In the broadest sense, Outropolis is an ephemeral micronation. A walled city, actually, rising on the high plains east of the Rockies in the US. A mile square, Outropolis boasts a central plaza in the middle of which stands a castle/city hall. Monolithic public buildings line the plaza: Museum of Science Fiction and Fantasy, library, movie and stage theaters, and hotel. The narrow, maze-like streets behind these landmarks compose the four living "quarters": Wiccadia, Gotha, Urania, and Tanstaafl. Here are five-story (plus basement) medieval-European-style structures for apartments and garrets, small businesses, inns, and meeting halls.
Outropolis is the spiritual home of science fiction and fantasy fans, Wiccans, Goths, Miskatonic U. alumni, and those who study the stars. All who love one or more of these things are welcome. Rent an apartment, live there when you dream, see the sights, enjoy the Outropolitan nightlife. Later...roam endless Outropolis in the alleyways of Heaven forever. |
